What is PRP?
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. Our blood has many different components: red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. All are necessary for helping our bodies function, but platelets and plasma are especially good for tissue regeneration. PRP contains proteins and growth factors that help cells renew and repair themselves.
A centrifuge is used to separate out the red and white blood cells from a small blood sample, leaving behind plasma with a very high concentration of platelets. This platelet rich plasma (PRP) is then infused into the skin to help stimulate collagen production and repair age-related skin damage.
